A 50-year-old Iqaluit man is dead after a shack in Apex burned this past Dec. 12, at around 8:00 p.m.

Kenneth MacFarlane’s body was found among the charred remains of the shack, near house 3210 in Apex.

Eulalie Ussak, 50, MacFarlane’s common-law wife, faces charges of second-degree murder and arson.

Ussak is in custody, police said in a news release Wednesday, and was to appear in court Dec. 18.

RCMP are still seeking information in the case. They’re asking anyone who may have seen something to call 979-1111.
