Three NDP MPs to attend Nunavut AGM this weekend
Nunavut NDP association to hold open discussion in Iqaluit March 9
Three New Democratic Party MPs will attend the Nunavut NDP association’s annual general meeting in Iqaluit this weekend, when they plan to hold discussions and a question-and-answer session.
The MPs are: Libby Davies (Vancouver East), the NDP’s deputy leader and health critic; Jean Crowder (Nanaimo-Cowichan), the party’s aboriginal affairs critic; and Chris Charlton (Hamilton Mountain), the critic for human resources and skills development.
“There will be a discussion and question and answer session on issues facing the North and what the NDP plans to do differently,” Doug Workman, the president of the Nunavut Employees Union, said in an email.
Workman’s email said “all are welcome.”
Nunavut NDP association will hold the event at the Hotel Arctic, 923 Federal Road in Iqaluit on March 9 starting at 1:00 p.m.
In June of 2012, Crowder visited Iqaluit and Pangnirtung to talk about food security issues.
