Qanurli set to launch season three Sept. 2
Inuit Broadcasting Corp. plans Aug. 31 launch in Iqaluit to benefit women's shelter
If you like the Inuit Broadcasting Corp.‘s television show, Qanurli, you’re in luck.
The Inuktitut language comedy show, which stars Thomas Anguti Johnston as Inuk and Vinnie Karetak as Nipangi, starts its third season Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. CT on APTN North.
“We’re really excited for people to watch this season, it’s one of our funniest yet,” said Stacey Aglok MacDonald, one of the show’s producers.
And if you’re in Iqaluit, you can get a sneak peek at the show’s third season on Aug. 31 at 5 p.m., with a public screening at the Astro Theatre.
A similar event was held last year to launch the show’s second season.
During the Aug. 31 screening, you’ll see season-three teasers along with a few of Qanurli’s favourite skits and commercials.
Present at the screening will be some of the show’s cast members along with the producing team to answer questions and speak about their experiences working on the show.
At the event Qanurli producers will also be accepting donations on behalf the Qimaavik Women’s Shelter in Iqaluit.
“IBC is proud of providing quality entertainment for Inuit youth, this is a very exciting venture and we hope that Inuit will remain faithful followers of Qanurli beginning with the launch,” said Madeleine d’Argencourt, IBC’s chairperson.
The series is produced by Aglok MacDonald, Keenan Nooks Lindell and Joshua Qaumariaq, and written by Thomas Anguti Johnston and Nooks Lindell .
