Qanurli celebrates its second season
Inuit Broadcasting cast, crew to host open house and visit elder's qammaq and Inuksuk High School
To mark the second season of their show Qanurli, or “What Now” the Inuit Broadcasting Corporation and cast and crew of the show are having a public open house and preview in Iqaluit Nov. 5 at 6 p.m in the IBC studio, building 1085.
The show, also known as the Inuk Qablunaaq show, is a 13-part series produced by IBC and hosted by “Inuk Qablunaaq” (Thomas Anguti Johnston) and “Nipangi Suitti” (Vinnie Karetak).
The show features comedy skits, parodies and commercials for outrageous products as well as profiles of youth from around the Arctic.
This show’s second season will feature Qanurli stars Inuk Qablunaaq and Nipangi Suitti as they produce a new show together called The Inuk Nipangi Shooooowww!
The open house, an opportunity for people to meet the cast and crew, will also be broadcast live at the Inuit Communications Ltd. website.
For youth and elders, the people working on Qanurli, including co-hosts Johnston and Karetak, also planned to visit the elder’s qammaq Nov. 1 at 1:20 p.m, and to go to Inuksuk High School Nov. 3 at 3 p.m.
There, IBC staff will talk about what it’s like working in the film industry, and give a “sneak preview” of the show, which will have its premiere in January 2013 on APTN.
