Police in Iqaluit continue to search for a man seen fleeing an Iqaluit store Oct. 3.
At about 9 a.m., Oct. 3, members of the RCMP Iqaluit detachment responded to an armed robbery at building 343, which houses the DJ Specialties convenience store.
A man, armed with a rifle, attempted to rob the store, the RCMP said in a news release.
The man fled on foot, traveling northeast, police said.
Eyewitnesses described the man as an Inuk, wearing a dark hooded sweater with white lettering and white stripes under the arms, black gloves with blue stripes, dark pants, a dark ball cap, and a white bandana, police said.
At this time, the man “is not believed to be in possession of a firearm,” police said.
