Ottawa police have located a Nunavut boy who had been reported missing March 1, saying that he is “safe and sound.”
Walter Hikoalok, 14, whose name is mispelled as “Hikolak” in police press releases, was last seen Feb. 21 at Ottawa’s Rideau Centre, a March 1 news release from the Ottawa Police Service had said.
Hikoalok’s Facebook page says the youth is from Nunavut’s western hub, Cambridge Bay.
“Walter is an Aboriginal male, 5’5”, 119 pounds in weight, medium build with brown eyes, brown hair and darker skin tone,” police said.
“His family is concerned for his well-being.”
Ottawa police, however, now say the boy is safe, but did not say where he was found.
