NUNATSIAQ NEWS
Nunavut’s Women in Action, including Nunavut commissioner Edna Elias, Kim Crockatt of Cambridge Bay, Wynter Kuliktana of Kugluktuk, Jesse Mike of Iqaluit and Susan Ball of Arviat pose with guides and supporters in Rankin Inlet earlier this week. The group set off May 1 on their Steps of Hope – a 113 kilometre journey by foot from Whale Cove to Rankin Inlet, and then back again – to raise money for the Alberta Cancer Foundation. A post on the Women in Action Facebook page said the group walked about 30 kilometres May 1, and were “sore and tired but in great spirits.” (PHOTO COURTESY OF JESSE MIKE)
