Photo: Spring is in the air in the Kitikmeot

NUNATSIAQ NEWS
One sure sign that spring has come to the Kitikmeot region: the arrival of the snow bunting. Cambridge Bay photographer Denise LeBleu snapped this bird May 7 after setting up a bird feeder outside her home. Also known as a Snowflake, these High Arctic birds are among the first to fly north again in the springtime, and make their nests in the crevices of rocks. (PHOTO BY DENISE LEBLEU IMAGES)
