Actor and climate change activist Emma Thompson and former mayor of Clyde River Jerry Natanine hold up a message for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the beach in Clyde River. The message, "Gord is right, you can fix it," is a reference to Gord Downie, frontman for the Tragically Hip who, during a concert in Kingston Aug. 20, implored the prime minister, who was in the audience, to help northern peoples live better lives. Thompson, known to most Clyde River residents for her roles in the Nanny McPhee and Harry Potter films, was in the Baffin community to support the local fight against seismic testing. She was there with a crew from Greenpeace and supporters who came to town to install solar panels on Clyde River's community hall. Read more about that trip later, on nunatsiaqonline.ca.
