Matt Clark of the North Mart Iqaluit receives a pie in the face Nov. 15 at North Mart's fundraiser to raise money for the Canadian Diabetes Association. November is Diabetes Awareness month — diabetes has been called a ticking "time bomb" in the Arctic, according to some experts. Pies were auctioned off to the crowd, and the lucky winner got to throw the pie at a North Mart employee — or at Iqaluit mayor John Graham. City councillor Terry Dobbin took the opportunity to throw a pie at the mayor, at a cost of $40. (PHOTO BY DAVID MURPHY)
