Iqaluit RCMP members with an unidentified man they detained after firefighters extinguished a blaze in a shed behind building 2017 in the West 40 area of Iqaluit May 11. The man's connection to the fire is not clear. Flames engulfed the shed a little after 2 p.m. that afternoon and smoke was visible from as far away as the Plateau subdivision. Iqaluit firefighting crews left the scene at around 2:35 p.m. There was smoke and fire damage to the outside of the property at the rear of the house, but no significant damage to the building.

"They did have electricity run through the shed through an extension core, so we know electricity played in it we just don't know to what extent.
