Vicky Johnston, centre, and Louisa Makiuk, at right, dress up Kuujjuaq mayor Tunu Napartuk like a bird Feb. 12, to illustrate how birds adapt to survive the cold of the Arctic. The trio took part in an event hosted by the Arctic Council's Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna working group, which is meeting in Kuujjuaq this week. The bird-themed evening, held at the local Katittavik town hall, also featured a screening of the film People of a Feather, which explores the relationship between the Inuit of Sanikiluaq and the eider duck.
