Photo: Kugluktuk’s Grant Newman honoured at Kitikmeot Trade Show

Grant Newman, the owner of Kikiak Contracting Inc. in Kugluktuk, shown here at the Feb. 12 banquet of the Kitikmeot Trade Show in Cambridge Bay, is the 2013 recipient of the Willie Laserich Memorial Corporate Citizen award. The trophy, now engraved with Newman's name, will go on display at the Cambridge Bay airport, where the late Willie Laserich, a pioneer in Arctic aviation, founded and ran today's Cambridge-based Adlair Aviation Ltd. The trade show remains open to the public Feb. 13 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Cambridge Bay's Kiilinik High School. The trade show wraps up with an evening of traditional entertainment, including a fashion show, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kullik Ilihakvik. (PHOTO BY RED SUN PRODUCTIONS)
