These students at Ulluriaq school in Kangiqsualujjuaq have a reason to smile: they recently took part in a new Nunavik health program called “Come, let us enjoy life together!” The workshops promote healthy living among young Nunavimmiut, which includes balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, proper sleep and cultural activities. The workshops, which will visit Nunavik’s 17 schools in 2014, are led by Ulluriaq students Andrea Brazeau and Julia St-Aubin, two athletes who were recently recognized as “Ones to watch” by the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physicial Activity (CAAWS.)
