On March 8, International Women’s Day, women in Kuujjuaq walk from the Forum arena to the Katittavik Town Hall, as they carry a banner in English and Inuttitut. There, snacks, speeches by Martha Greig, a Kuujjuaq councillor and healer, Kativik Regional Government chairperson Maggie Emudluk and Jennifer Watkins, a Kuujjuaq councillor, a cake contest, won by Aputik Johannes, and draws for prizes from Newviq’vi, the  Northern Store, Kuujjuaq Inn and Tivi Gallery followed.
