Akeeagok's visit was part of QIA's contribution to Inuktitut Literacy Month. “QIA wants to do our part to encourage young people to be proud of Inuktitut; we want to show that learning and using Inuktitut is fun," said Akeeagok, in a news release on the Baffin organization's website. Those interested in getting or exchanging Inuktitut books are invited to attend a book fair and exchange in the lobby of the Igluvut building in Iqaluit on Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon.
