Kirsten MacDonald and Maika Niego-Akavak, along with about 40 other students from Ecole des Trois-Soleils, clean up a creek in Iqaluit Sept. 21 as part of the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup. The cleanup happens across the country from Sept. 15 to 23 to raise awareness of the harmful effects of shoreline litter on the environment and people.
Kirsten MacDonald and Maika Niego-Akavak, along with about 40 other students from Ecole des Trois-Soleils, clean up a creek in Iqaluit Sept. 21 as part of the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup. The cleanup happens across the country from Sept. 15 to 23 to raise awareness of the harmful effects of shoreline litter on the environment and people. "It's just our way of contributing to what is a big problem in Iqaluit," Grade 9 teacher François Ouellette said, adding that it's the school's third year participating in the cleanup effort.
