Photo: Don’t be scared… Ollie doesn’t bite

NUNATSIAQ NEWS
Cambridge Bay elder Mary Avalak poses with Ollie the Omingmak, official mascot for the annual Omingmak Frolics, held every spring in that western Kitikmeot town. When Ollie went missing at the beginning of the festival, organizers were concerned that his public appearances would be compromised but now that he's back, he's a regular site around town. He even stopped to pose for family photos at the high school May 18, including one with Avalak who was a little nervous at first but soon realized Ollie was a friendly muskox. The Frolics festival continues until May 23. (PHOTO BY RED SUN PRODUCTIONS)
