Members of Team Nunavik-Quebec celebrate with hundreds of other athletes from around the circumpolar world during the dazzling opening ceremonies of the Arctic Winter Games  in Fairbanks, Alaska, March 15. The games are the world's largest northern multi-sport and cultural event and are considered a celebration of both athletic competition and northern culture. Athletes compete in conventional winter sports such as figure skating and snowboarding as well as traditional Arctic and Dene games. They run until March 22.
