Second-year Nunavut Sivuniksavut students Ruthie Mingeriak of Kimmirut (centre) and Melanie Kuluguqtuk of Grise Fiord (right) give Enid Gibney a lesson in Nunavut geography Feb. 19 in Ottawa. Gibney was one of several dozen Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada employees who signed up for Nunavut educational workshops from NS this week. The students walk participants through the stages of Inuit history and share aspects of their culture, as they have for several years under a paid contract through AANDC's Inuit Relations Secretariat. Murray Angus, acting coordinator for NS, said all money earned from the workshops — he did not disclose the amount — goes toward the annual NS field trip, which this year will take the students to Rwanda.
