Photo: A call for action on food insecurity in Nunavut

David Wilman, the director of Iqaluit's Tukisigiarvik Centre, speaks to delegates at the opening of the Nunavut Food Security Symposium Jan. 21 at the Iqaluit Soup Kitchen. The symposium will look at country food access, “market food” access, policy and legislation, financial literacy, local food production, and community programs.  The three-day symposium, hosted by the Nunavut Food Security Coalition, is a step in the right direction, but only if governments and Inuit organizations “move from theoretical actions into very practical real action quickly,” Wilman said.
