A new subsidiary company of Nunasi Corp., Nunasi Financial Services Ltd. will use space next month in Nunasi’s building in Yellowknife, the Nunavut Inuit birthright corporation said Aug. 27.
Nunasi’s new full-service bookkeeping and conference services company will be located on the second floor of the Nunasi Building on 48th Street in Yellowknife.
“Our bookkeeping staff has done such a great job providing bookkeeping services to our subsidiary companies over the years, that we have decided to expand these services and make them available to other businesses and organizations. I look forward to sharing our successes of this growing company with our partners,” said Okalik Eegeesiak, Nunasi’s chairperson.
Nunasi said in July it planned to close its corporate office in Yellowknife and transfer its vice-president of finance, Cathy Munro, to an office in Ottawa,
At the same time, the company said it would maintain a “head office” in Iqaluit and create a new wholly-owned subsidiary company in Yellowknife made up of their bookkeeping staff, called Nunasi Financial Services Ltd..
Nunasi Financial Services will also operate NFS Conference Services from the same offices, where its clients can host meetings or other events, Nunasi said Aug. 27.
NFS Conference Services will also offer conference and event planning services, Nunasi said.
“We have state-of-the-art facilities that are both beautiful and functional and designed to provide our clients with a comfortable and stimulating environment for hosting meetings, training, or other kinds of events,” Renée Jones, president of Nunasi Financial Services, said in the news release.
Nunasi Financial Services also plans to hold an open house Sept. 19 at 4:30 p.m. “to give people a chance to see our facilities and learn about the services we offer.”
