Igloolik gets ready to rock the walrus

Rockin’ Walrus arts fest to kick off July 3

The day after Iqaluit’s 2012 Alianait Arts Festival draws to a close, Igloolik residents will get a chance to enjoy a music festival of their own.

The third annual Rockin’ Walrus Arts Festival will run from July 3 to July 6 in Igloolik.

This year, the festival will feature performers such as Beatrice Deer, Zebedee and Jeannie Nungak, Saali, Laakukuk Williamson Bathory, Michael Kusugak, Washboard Hank, and others.

Organizers also plan workshops on urban art, music and theatre.
