Air chaos causes postponements

IQALUIT — The Circumpolar Education Conference that was to be held last week in Quebec City and Kuujjuaq has been postponed until next spring.

International delegates from Alaska, Greenland and Finland cancelled after the Sept. 11 terrorists attacks in the U.S. As a result, KRB spokesperson Debbie Astroff said, it would be "absolutely pointless" to hold the conference.

The Inuit Art Foundation’s qaggiq, scheduled for Sept. 29, has been moved to Saturday, Oct. 27. The IAF, a non-profit organization supporting Inuit artists, hosts the qaggiq — a celebration of Inuit art and culture — every year at its Ottawa offices in the Country Place Plaza on Merivale Rd.
