NTI nominations to open

IQALUIT — Nominations for the upcoming Nunavut Tunngavik election will open next month.

Elections for the positions of NTI president, first vice-president and vice-president of finance will take place Dec. 10.

Residents wanting to run for those spots can pick up nomination papers by Oct. 1. The papers must be completed and filed by Oct. 15.

Papers are available from any NTI office, or by e-mail from Juanita@arctic.ca.

NTI’s current first vice-president is James Eetoolook, and its vice-president of finance is Bernadette Tungilik. The job of NTI president came open this summer when controversial president Paul Quassa resigned.
