Hookers hit Samiland
Nunatsiaq News
IQALUIT Finnish police recently cracked down on Russian prostitutes
in the province of Lapland, arresting and deporting 12 women.
According to police in Kemi, Finland, the Russian women were
from the Murmansk region, which lies just across Finlands
northern border.
The Russians who came to Finland apparently sold not only their
bodies but also illegally imported cigarettes and liquor.
Police say 40 Russian prostitutes visit Lapland regularly. Russian
prostitutes also make business trips to northern Norway.
