Pang man arrested

IQALUIT — A Pangnirtung man was arrested last week and charged with firing a rifle inside a home.

The gun was fired in the early morning hours of Sept. 7.

When police arrived at the residence, the young man gave himself up peacefully. No one was injured by the gunfire.

RCMP charged Peteloosie Kakkik, 19, with carelessly using a firearm and damaging property. He’ll appear in court Oct. 22 in Pangnirtung.
