New lights for Kuujjuaraapik’s airport

IQALUIT — The federal government will spend up to $795,000 to refurbish and improve the lighting system at Kuujjuaraapik’s airport.

"This airport improvement project will allow the Kuujjuaraapik airport to remain a safe and efficient facility," said Guy St-Julien, Member of Parliament for Abitibi-James Bay-Nunavik.

Kuujjuaraapik’s airport is one of Nunavik’s busiest, handling 25,000 passengers annually from 1997 to 1999.
