IQALUIT Last week the Canadian Political Survivor Web site
kicked Prime
Minister Jean Chrétien off Baffin Island.
"Big Jean gets the boot in week 2" read the headline on the Canadian
Political Survivor's Web site.
Based on the hit television show, Survivor, this Internet challenge
has
stranded six politicians Chrétien, Stockwell Day, Svend
Robinson, Lucien
Bouchard, Sheila Copps, and Paul Martin on Baffin.
Visitors to the site can then put the politicians through challenging,
hypothetical political situations and argue over their prowess.
Similarly to
what happens on Survivor, visitors can also cast their votes on
this Web
site, choosing one politician to be "thrown off" Baffin.
So far, Chrétien and Copps have been kicked off.
Yahoo! Canada chose the site, www.FindPolitics.com
, in it's "Picks of the
Week."
"It's every Canadian taxpayer's dream come true-all our leaders
are stranded
on an island with only their wits and ability to get along to
sustain them.
Yeah, we figure this won't take long, either," Yahoo! said.
One resident of Nunavut logged on the site, saying "I think this
is an
excellent idea, due to the fact that most politicians do not know
exactly
what it's really like to live here!!!!"
